Mississippi Mills Bicycle Movement is your source for information about all things two-wheeled in Mississippi Mills, Ontario (comprising the wards of Almonte, Pakenham, and Ramsay). Our town has been awarded Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community Status in Share the Road Cycling Coalition's national award program!
Located just west of Ottawa, this area is known for its gorgeous natural scenery, quiet country roads, heritage architecture, and friendly small towns and villages. Our name comes from the beautiful Mississippi River that meanders through Almonte, Blakeney and Pakenham, and from the textile mills that formerly drove the local economy and have recently been transformed into stunning condos and retail spaces.
The goal of this volunteer-run site is to connect cyclists to local resources, and to promote events taking place during Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month, which occurs in June of each year.

Blue bike on the Mississippi
Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month celebrates cycling with a series of bicycle-themed events, taking place throughout the month of June in Mississippi Mills, Ontario. Past events have included guided rides, parades, educational events, movies, bike polo and professional cycling races. Most are free, many are family-friendly, and you will find events suitable for all ages and cycling abilities. Our goal is to encourage safe bicycling as a way to stay fit, have fun, and meet other people in the community.
Silver Chain Challenge

During the month of June, don't forget to record your kilometres biked (or walked) at The Silver Chain Challenge. Every kilometre logged is a vote for better active transportation infrastructure!
