RIMM Rovers

One of the cycling groups in Mississippi Mills is the RIMM (Riding In Mississippi Mills) Rovers.  The Rovers are mostly retired or semi retired folk who want to remain actively healthy and enjoy fresh air.

They ride mostly back roads around Almonte where it is safest, at a leisurely pace (14-16 km/hr) on routes from 20 to 25km in length.

Leaving Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. from the Almonte library where there is lots of parking for those who transport their bikes to the starting place. The group stops about halfway through the ride for a break and to eat a snack (riders supply their own) and/or visit. The group is generally back in Almonte by 11:30 or so.

On occasion they pick an additional day for a longer ride and lunch out. They have visited the Ashton Pub, Alice’s Cafe in Carp and the Canal Ritz in Ottawa (transporting bikes to Andrew Hayden Park as a beginning and end point).

There are approximately 45 names on the group’s contact list with some 10 to 12 members on any given ride.

If you are interested in finding out more about the RIMM Rovers, or wish to have your name added to the contact list, please contact John Peters at <almontecarver@gmail.com>.
